Author Notes:
Now that we're past that, Hello!
Beth's mad! Anyone else find it interesting that even when she's fuming, she's still speaking as though someone else would eat his brain? Definitely weird.
Enough about the comic, let's hear about the contest! (Unless people want to hear more about the comic.. Then feel free to ask :) )
The contest:
At 9pm GMT on Saturday, January 30th, I will set up a comic to post. In the author's note will be a list of comics, a 20 strip (or less) span and an object to find. It's not necessarily going to be fair to everyone, due to the specific of the timezone, but this is our first contest, and we will definitely be interested in hearing suggestions to make it better.
In the address bar of the comic, you should find a number (if you press the back button on this comic, it should show up as http://togm.webcomic.ws/comics/43, which would mean that if the object you were looking for is on page 43.)
Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to trek through these comics and find the objects in question. I've specifically made sure that none of them have actual nudity, though some are perhaps less than SFW if you work at some place where a shot of a bra or underwear might be inappropriate. Also, there might be some with dialogue that contains inappropriate words, but I've tried to select things that means you don't have to read the words if you don't want to. And I will mark on the page which ones contains words, to my knowledge, that you might want to avoid if you are of a delicate persuasion. Still, I encourage you to check these comics out after the contest, just because they are fun.
If you like a bunch of them, maybe join Comicfury and check out some of the others for yourself, there are a lot of good independent comics here.
How to Win:
Fill out the form with the numbers from each comic that you find the selected object in. Email the finished document to Gottogm@gmail.com and the first one to give me a 100% correct result will win.
The Prize:
1 Pin Up Image of you, or a character you own the IP rights to in the Zombie Level of your choice.
This will come when June has time to do it, obviously, and we're not going to risk missing an update to get it done on a certain schedule.
Additional 'prize': If you are willing to renounce any say in what happens to the character / any right to sue us over the use of the character, we may include the character in the TOGM world as well. Neither side is obligated to do this.
I just want to thank Cyborg from Comicfury for his helpful suggestions in making this contest, and all the people who allowed us to use their comics in our contest. You guys are all awesome ;)
If you need any clarification, now is the time to ask it..

I'm also trying to use different angles to either invoke a certain feeling, and/or to ensure that the comic doesn't become too boring. This is not easy! I find backgrounds can quicky become over-detailed, and I have a lot of difficulty with perspective. Speaking of which, does anyone know of any tutorials for drawing perspective that are (preferably) free?

And when I saw Zombie One John I was cracking up xD
as for a perspective tutorial, I wish that I could help you there but I too am looking for a free one. I'll let you know if I find anything :D
I'm not sure, why, but it filled me with happiness. :P
Probably his expression, coupled with the hole in his head.
I really hope I manage to attend to the conquest, I've never done something like this, but I'm sure it will be fun :D
You could have been saying it in a weird way, I suppose, just found it amusing that you used the word conquest in your comment, and your comic is called Conquest :)
@Viper - Thanks! :) My favourite is still Green Eggs and Braaaaains for writing, but this one is probably my favourite for drawing. Beth is very expressive with her body language here.
