Some thoughts and potential changes for this author's comment. You may have noticed we removed the ratings. We allow anonymous comments, so if you want to indicate your pleasure or displeasure with a strip, you can make a comment. We thought about it and realized that it didn't do us any good to have those ratings up there. I have one of those Formspring things... It's at www.formspring.me/magravan :)
As for TOGM merch, we'll have to go with pre-order I think. Though, if we have a custom one made up for a Con, we might get it from one of the websites, and then we'll tell you guys about it... So you can choose to spend whatever they charge if you really want :)
Lastly, just floating an idea around... I am considering a Friday or Saturday night special where it would be a "Behind the Scenes" comic where it would be like the characters as if they were actors in a movie discussing their roles and such... It would be a lot of reused art, because the objective is to provide additional content without additional stress on June... Is this something anyone would be interested in?
I thought Sylene wouldn't show up for quite some time now :P A change of heart I guess :D
I really liked this page, it seems that Sylene's model has been somewhat changed, she isnt so... scary now. By the way, does this mean every Zombie has an alarm inside of him, which goes off when it dies? Quite an interesting feature :P
@Mag: Seriously, I never knew we had a ratings thingy :o
@Skrael: /wave, don't die!
I personally love the fact that she's painting her house orange ;) That's one of the things that June throws in that I am not expecting and it just adds so much to the strip...
And she wonders why I insist she's a co-writer as well :)
@Marshmallow - Exactly! Awesome helps me about as much as a 5 does. It tells me that they enjoyed the strip. I'd rather people mention what they didn't like than post a 1 though. There are also no Top 5 comment sections, so I can be sure that someone say "Sucks" isn't just out to ruin my chances at a top 5 spot on ratings... Whereas a 1 can mean all sorts of things from all sorts of people.. Which makes improving areas that we are weak at sort of hit and miss :)
@Barrahir - I'll fully admit that I added parts of the next few strips later on in development.. That's one advantage of working with Guide posts rather than a finished script. It seemed like a good excuse to give Sylene some back story and to introduce a few new characters who will have a role in things to come.
We're still working on Sylene's model, and chances are most of the characters will undergo a couple more versions of themselves before we land on one that we strive to keep consistent ;) As for the Alarms... Not really :) But that's a whole plot tangent on it's own ;)
And yeah, we had ratings up for a while. Sadly, some people have been abusing them, and I just got to the point where I don't want to wonder whether someone gave it a 1 because they hated the strip or because TOGM just passed them / their favourite comic on the ratings list...
@Effigy - She's eccentric, but not necessarily completely unbalanced ;) She's fun to write though, because a lot of times I have to completely change the way I see a situation... Stop smirking.. Okay, maybe not completely *cough*
I'd never heard of ComicHovel, but I am going to check it out ;) We're all for expanding to new potential readers, but we also don't want to give up any control over what we put up if we can avoid it.. That's why Comicfury has been so awesome for us :)
I was in downtown today... while walking in a certain foodstore, I saw something that both reminded me of TOGM, and also deeply disturbed me. Cookies with pieces of brains(animal ones ofc). Creeeepy.
And a behind-the-scene comic would be cool. :)
@Skrael: *waves back* I would hope not! D:

@Skrael: 'course you're not. I don't remember allowing you to! I never let people just plop over if they make stuff I enjoy.

Narcissist in love?
She's definitely interested in John for more than just his brains.
But she would need a bigger T-Shirt.
Sylene always creeps me out ever so slightly! xD
Thanks Bishop, still looking forward to Noose, get a move on! :)
